COAXIAL - Wooden Shelve

Nowadays, we are incapable of creating something if we don’t have one or more references concerning the respect. The principal reference of COAXIAL is Geometry.

This wooden shelf appears after a playful experimentation with the intersection of perpendicular plans and the constant repetition of this intersection in vertical and horizontal ways.

It was in the moment the bi-dimensional intersection of plans took a three-dimensional aspect, when the first suggestive form of the COAXIAL Shelve appeared. Doubting about this suggestive form and the different views it can show from different perspectives, gave as a result a product that then demanded the necessity of being divided in eight pieces for a better fabrication process. 

The shelf is a modern piece that dialogues with the interior design, and invite it to be minimal, but complex. Rethinking what a shelf really is about, this design provides a double functionality: coat rack and storage.
